TUNING FORKS :
As a practitioner of SOMA ENERGETICSTM, I use tuning forks to clear energy blockages from the Chakras. These tuning forks use the frequencies of the Solfeggio scale, ancient musical notes that create harmonics.
Near the turn of the 20th century, Dr. Joseph Puleo, a naturopathic physician and minister from Idaho noticed numerical patterns while reading from his bible (KJV). He had been having discussions with colleagues about all things being comprised of vibrations. The Solfeggio notes (part of a tuning system called Just Intonation) disappeared around the time of Pope Gregory. Earliest mention of them appears in the Indian vedas that date to around 1000-1500 B.C. The mathematics and calculations also appear in the Mayan Codices.

We now use the 12 Tone Equal Temperament system of tuning and as David Doty says in The Just Intonation Primer, "Music has been placed in a box of limitations." In Gregorian Chant, by Professor Willi Apel (1958) of Indiana University, "Because the music held mathematical resonance, the original frequencies were capable of spiritually inspiring manking to be more 'godkind'." The benefits, as stated above, are removal of blockages. When removing energy blockages, there may be improvement of physical problems since these usually begin first in the energy field of individuals. Tuning fork sessions may result in temporary discomfort, purging, loss of sleep, etc. lasting up to 2 weeks following the session. Just as with massage, drinking a lot of water following the treatment may help lessen the symptoms. Those with pacemakers should not have these treatments and may not even want to be in a room where they are being performed as the frequencies may disturb the function of the pacemaker.
